Futaba products are all named in a specific manner to help identify the product.

Finding a manual for this radio would entail going to the manuals download page, scrolling down to 6, X, then Super, and clicking on the D/L (download) file.

RECEIVERS: An FP-R127DF is a Futaba Product, Receiver, 1 = J plug style, 2 is the series or generation, 7 is the number of channels, D is dual conversion, F is FM modulation. As individual receivers do not have instruction manuals (the receiver instructions are part of the transmitter manual), there is no manual for this receiver.

SERVOS: Servo model names provide a variety of information to the user. FP is of course a Futaba Product, and S is servo.

* 1 or 2 digit servo #s (ie. S-2 or S-18): If the servo is a 1 or 2 digit #, then it had a G plug and 1.31mS center. (What is a G connector?)

These codes apply only to 1-3 digit servo #s (IE S-2, S13, S148).

• G = Mechanical gear (retract) servo
• H = high speed
• L = reverse rotation
• S = coreless

* 3 or 4 digit servo #s (ie. S148, S9250): If the servo has a 3 or 4 digit servo # then it is on a J plug and has a 1.52mS center. (What is a J connector?)

The first digit of a 4-digit servo indicates the motor type.

• 3 = 3 pole
• 5 = 5 pole
• 7 = 7 pole
• 9 = coreless

The second digit indicates the intended design purpose:

• 1 = air
• 2 = heli
• 3 -6 = various classes of car
• 7 = mechanical retracts (gear)
• 8 = sail
• 9 = industrial design only
• 0 = general use, economical

If the 3rd digit is a 5 then the servo is digital.

As servos do not have detailed individual instruction sheets (except certain specialty items like the S5801), you will not find servo instructions on the download page.

FP is again Futaba Products, G is Gyro.

• Three digit #s are complete gyro units.
• Single digit #s are sensors alone, IE G3BB is the sensor/piezo for a G133BB or G153BB gyro.
• GY is a class of gyros which include AVCS technology.
• Gyros in the 130-139 range were G plug.
• Gyros in the 150-159 range were the same gyro as the 13* gyro but with J plug.
• GYA gyros are designed specifically for aircraft use.
• BB designation indicates ball bearings in the gyro itself.
